📝2001 - Of course, it can't be compared to a $5000 Haut Brion Blanc, but it still retains some of the characteristics of Haut Brion Blanc. A mature Pessac white, vibrant in color, with aromas of ripe plum, apricot, dried fig, chrysanthemum honey, and toast. On the palate, ripe pineapple and cream emerge, followed by a smoky finish. The acidity is crisp and bright, exhibiting the characteristics of an aged Bordeaux white wine… truly a versatile wine, equally at home and in a formal setting! 😆😆

🖌After one hour, notes of ripe mango and honeysuckle begin to emerge. The wine boasts an amazing full body; in the glass, one can feel the winemaker's dedication and passion for winemaking. Still feeling the effects after 3 hours of drinking! 💪🏽💪🏽

🔎The modern history of the winery begins with the Gervoson family taking over the estate in 1987. They actively acquired neighboring land to expand the vineyards from the original 17 hectares to 72.5 hectares. Neighbors include Haut Bailly and La Louviere. The winery is now managed by one of the three women, Emilie Gervoson.

Château Larrivet Haut Brion is widely considered a classified growth among non-classified growths, meaning its quality has already reached classified growth levels, but it hasn't had the opportunity to be upgraded. 😪 Wine connoisseurs know that the Bordeaux classification system is somewhat outdated 👎🏼 and fails to fully reflect the quality of each winery. This winery excels in both red and white wines.
